Mahatma Gandhi dreamed of an India that was not only free, but also clean and developed. He broke the chains of slavery and freed Mother India. Now it is our duty to serve Mother India by keeping her clean.
The Clean India pledge
As a citizen of India, I pledge that I will not throw any garbage or waste on the road or street, only in a dustbin or the place meant for it. I will start with myself, my family, my neighbourhood, my village or city and my workplace, and I will spread the message of the Clean India Mission among everyone close to me.
I know that every step I take towards cleanliness helps make all of India clean.
